Nikolay Sazhin was a former Russian world champion of chess boxing. His elo rating is 1911, and he has won many titles such as the international chess boxing in 2011, 2012 and the chess boxing tournament in Berlin in 2008 all in which he was victorious and won.

Tim Woolgar is a British chess boxer and event organiser who established Great Britain chess boxing organisation and the London chess boxing club, the first United Kingdom chess boxing institution. Growing up he participated both in chess and boxing separately, hearing that the two contrasting sports can be combined to one sport he was intrigued and took part in it.
Tihomir Dovramadjiev is a Bulgarian chess master and boxer. He won the first European chess boxing championship in
October of 2005. He continued to win titles such as the Bulgarian national chess championship and he has played in international chess tournaments.
His elo rating was 2356.
This extremely weird sport is now governed by the world chess boxing organisation who have a famous motto; “fighting is done in the ring and wars are waged on the board”. The first world championship of chess boxing was
held in Amsterdam in 2003 and was won by Iepe Rubingh himself. In 2003, there were hopes for this sport to be considered an Olympic sport however this did not occur, it now remains a privately organised sport mainly in Europe.
