Parkour: The popularity in Parkour

Parkour: The popularity in Parkour

Why is it so popular?

Not only parkour has become the most popular extreme sport because of what skills and risk it takes to become a master at parkour. Parkour has become a trend nowadays because you can see it being performed in T.V Shows, Video games, movies, social media, etc. Parkour is used as a tool in some action movies or T.V shows to give the audience an intense feeling and amazement, when they see the protagonist performing the sport. For example, In the Netflix show, Daredevil, there is a scene where the main character who is a blind man performs parkour in order to chase a car. What makes this scene unique to parkour is that it makes parkour an exciting sport and gives inspiration to people to perform the sport but they already know that this isn’t one of those sport that requires no effort at all. Can you imagine, a blind man being able to do parkour with so much ease? That stuff is out of this world.

Why do people perform parkour even if it’s dangerous?

As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, people can get their inspiration in movies, T.V shows, etc. people perform very dangerous parkour to record themselves to post on social media so that they can become popular. I mean, putting your life at risk to get likes on Instagram is not the best trade in life. People also do it just for fun and to challenge themselves to put themselves into a new level. People who are inspired to perform extreme sport do not start from jumping buildings to buildings straight away. They start small from climbing small buildings and make small jumps to reach the top.
